Our Executive General Adjuster, Kevin Dawson, was a leading innovator in developing and applying claims techniques that were utilized nationally in his corporate career. Recently, he made legal precedent for his work on Kacha vs. Allstate Insurance Company, a case that changed insurance coverage disputes in California property claims appraisals.

In February 2002 three houses in the Oakland Hills on Wallace Street near 14th Avenue started slipping due to a massive mudslide. The mudslide was created by a water main breaking which saturated the soil causing the houses to slide. Unfortunately there are also 3 houses below owned by the Gong family that are also in danger. Homeowners can no longer live in these houses although they still have to pay to demolish them. The city did contract out to get rid of the trees that were a threat to the homes although they are not willing to pay to get rid of the homes. At least two of the three homes, which are sliding, may have been built illegally which happens when there is a rush for revenue and the city allows building where it shouldn’t be.
